I am a writer who lives in Dublin. I’m Slate‘s books columnist and a staff writer for The Millions. My stuff has been in The New York Times Magazine, The New York Times Book Review, The Observer, The Independent, The Dublin Review, and The New Yorker‘s “Page-Turner” literary blog. My e-book Epic Fail: Bad Art, Viral Fame, and the History of the Worst Thing Ever was published by Byliner and The Millions in 2012.
I am currently writing a book called To Be a Machine: Encounters with a Post-Human Future, which is due to be published by Doubleday (US) and Granta (UK) in 2016.
